  • Assessments of managers rarely place appropriate weight on people-management and development, focusing more on short term achievement of results;
  • Organisations seek to make people-management simple rather than effective. So, processes are trivialised;
  • People-management is often viewed as, accepted as, and encouraged to be an add-on, not a Key Responsibility.
